Birding: It turns out that Glenking Tree Farm is in the center of a majoring birding area as claimed by the Chairman of the Biology Department at Mount Union College. The McClaugherty Family spent Christmas Week at the cabin recently and sent this comment:
"I was thrilled with the diversity of winter birdlife, not only at the
feeder near the cabin but also in the woods and surrounding areas.
I observed bluebirds in a mixed flock foraging through the forest,
watched a harrier hunting over the marsh, and heard a great horned owl
at dusk."
We enjoy birds as well, and a feeder is hung a short distance from the cabin and binoculars are provided for your use. We commonly see/hear several species of woodpecker, indigo bunting, and barred owls frequently are heard in the pine woods (but seldom seen) and many others.
